I go hiking and trail in succession in them. I have loved their routine and the traction can’t be beat.

These trail shoes have more stability because they are for running over uneven surfaces and the nike and asics uppers are water resistant. The only advantage of having a running shoe over a trail running shoe is that the upper is lighter(but trail is stronger) and the outer-sole is lighter(but trail is stronger) If you are purely road running then get a running shoe will suffice but a trail running shoe will do both fine. They are not so good for intense running on treadmills or pavement however. Good luck and Happy Trails I have a pair of New Balance All Terrain in succession shoes that are fantastic for that.
