I Was Shoeless!
@internecineTurbine so you want them to drop all of this work and just forget in this area it? by wearing shoes these kids and adults can avoid life threatening disease and can have at smallest amount a small comfort that we have. yeah we need to give people water but also “small” acts like this can help to restore a broken spirit.
@internecineTurbine
at smallest amount they are focusing on AN issue.
I want to join your group<3
i walked that day(((:
What a fantastic cause! I missed out but will make sure to participate next time. I like what TOMS shoes is doing.
I really got a small mad watching this video. I came upon it because I’ve been watching videos of barefooters. I’m one of those people who feel shoes are really the problem, not a lack of them. Sure, they protect weak feet from rough surfaces, but the foot problems that the regularly unshod third worlders are having are probably more the hygiene thing and less the shoe thing. Shoes warp the foot, cause nail problems, and make us walk differently then we’re biologically intended to walk.
<333
I walked 6 miles barefoot. My feet started bleeding. And I had them off allll day
editing the video uf it
i delight in this video
!
0:27 that’s some colorless feet O_O….i wish i would have known in this area this i would have done it next year i guess
Hahaha i walked around for miles!!! with my friend mali ….&& i end up making my huge toe bleed O.O..SOOO WORTH IT :} ppl stared at us like wtf? && we told them all bout this…they loved the thought
…even at stores they would try to kick us out! but we clarified on wut is happing some understood but some didnt
still fun 2 walk around bare foot tho && know on wut some ppl on the world walk around bare footed :]
next year i will for sure participate, i was home all day cuz i’m sick but this is such a worthy cause, it’s so fantastic that the ppl that work for tomshoes are helping to make the world a more educated and better place.
@Shinjimae I never meant it that way. I always knew that there are people who don’t have shoes and they deserve to have shoes. And i was just giving examples of the things that they probably walk on. I know there are WAY WORSE than just insects and dirt. I never meant it anyway like that. And walking on the road never made me barley realize that I shouldn’t take things for granted. They suffer a lot. You don’t know how much it kills me to know there are people without shoes…gosh…:[
@Shinjimae its more of a way of feeling sympathy, understanding the issue, and initiating awareness. but if you reckon its that ridiculous why dont systematize a fundraiser.
i went barefoot today to my christian school and was mandatory to place my shoes on. thats everywhere our hypocritical stereotype comes from i guess.
my day is still not over but so far no shoe thing has been fun!
people stare jajajaja, and when they question i like telling them!,it was fun and for a fantastic cause, when i walked my dogs i stepped on a few rocks jajajajaja, thanks for being and inspiration! and toms will be on my birthday and Christmas list again! jajajaja
like norma
@canary2345 They get sick because they’ve been exploited, are being exploited, and continue to exploit each additional instead of making programs to deal with these issues. I bet the people in africa will feel really excellent that you walked around barefoot all day instead of doing something productive like doing a fundraiser to buy shoes and food for them.
@SlyCooperFan4ever Dirt, insects, and plants? Seriously? I don’t know if you realize this but you can get bug bites on your arms too and get sick or be fine. And stepping on dirt never hurt anyone. And Id rather step on plants than rocks. If you needed to walk around barefoot to realize you shouldn’t take things for granted you’re sweet dumb.
Yay Oklahoma!! Loved seeing people barefoot today!!
it’s kinda weird that everyone use shoes for a fashion statement and they’re really meant to keep these sicknesses in the feet to never happen.I’m barefoot right now. Theres pebbles from rocks and the road and just stepping on them made me realize that in additional places around the world there’s much more worse things than just pebbles and rocks. Like dirt, insects, plants and much more. I reckon I’m making awareness to for myself that I shouldn’t take things for granted even things like shoes
I may possibly not do it because it was raining everywhere I lived and also, if we walked around school without no shoes, we would get in distress.
