In south australia plastic shopping bags are banned from stores. If you want one you have to pay 20c. You would be surprised how many people opt not to get one. We also offer biodegradable bags. And now nearly each household brings “enviro” bags to do their shopping. They are like tote bags. Its small but it helps!! and i mean there are 2 million people living in the capital city alone. For the whole state to participate i reckon we are making a difference
then make 2 straps instead of one and connect em using a clasp ,–( not the right word i am looking for but meh, close enough), that way the size of the strap can be adjusted.
make the strap half strap half belt like. just like how any department store does.
but i dont use the bags and do not know how should a bag fit on a person, im a guy i make bags for women
its diy which means that it can be any size that you like and see fit lol

To take it one step further, I make “plarn” out of plastic bags and then weave them into re-usable totes, mats, placemats, just in this area anything on a loom. The fabric woven out of plastic shopping bags is really surprisingly very nice. try out my channel if you need to know how to make plarn and then for a tote project everywhere the handles are woven into the bag so that only the side and bottom need to be sewn.
