ok this is simple enough… first just plug em into eachother, make sure the lights come on when you plug em in… then go to network connections, right click on the blank screen within the window and click on properties… then you should be able to find your network connections somwhere… this may have been on the left in the small steering tab depending on your version of windows anyways once you find it right click on your local area tie and click properties again, in there scroll down to TCP/IP, if there are two (v4 and v6 then go to v4) once you have clicked that click on properties again and then set your IP on one computer to 192.168.0.1 and the additional computer to 192.168.0.2 and set your subnet address to 255.255.255.0 on both computers. then click ok and your done

if you want to test then press window key + R to go to the run window and type cmd, then in command prompt one the 1st computer type ping 192.168.0.2 (the additional computers IP) if it comes up with destination host unreachable then somthing is ill-treat, if it comes up with answer in XXXms and stuff like that then all is excellent… to share a folder just right click on a folder you want to share tell windows your sure you want to enable allotment and click the tickbox that says share this folder… to view the folder on another computer go back to run (window key + R) and type \192.168.0.X … X being the IP address of the additional computer so 1 or 2… then you should be dont and you should see the folder… if you wanna play games use the TCP/IP option and well … by now you should know your IP address :P :D delight in
